Illumination: the Undergraduate Journal of Humanities is the premier publishing venue for undergraduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We publish art, essays, poetry, short stories and write-ups about outreach projects.
We produce 3,000 journals each semester and this year we will introduce an online version that will give more artists and writers than even before a chance to be published. Contact us at illumination @ library.wisc.edu or in person at 507 Memorial Union, 800 Langdon St., Madison WI, 53706. Browse our archives here.
Be sure to stop by the Open Book Cafe on the first floor of College Library. We have approximately 30 artworks on display by Illumination submitters. This year we will have our first Gallery Night at the end of October, so keep checking back for more details.
Also, each semester we host an Open Mic poetry and prose event in the Open Book Cafe. Join us in October and read some of your own work or work by your favorite author. We look forward to meeting you!
